Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (JBHI)
Suggestions for JBHI are still being made and won’t be finalized for a couple of weeks.
We ask that if you were accepted you assume/prep for conference proceedings unless otherwise informed.
Final Submission Procedure
- To have your paper published to the IEEE Xplore digital library, it is required that you present your paper. If you do not make your presentation for any reason, your paper will be excluded from IEEE Xplore.
- Your full paper in PDF format must be submitted no later than Oct 10, 2024 23:59 (GMT -0700) [here]. Your paper must comply with the specifications outlined on the web site using this IEEE conference template: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html. Due to publication deadlines, no time extensions will be granted.
- As you prepare your final submission, include all author information and other pertinent information that had been removed due to the double blind review constraint. Make sure to carefully implement comments for improvements as suggested by reviewers on Openreview.net. The Technical Program Committee cannot give any further clarification and you do not need to explicitly respond to them.
- Your final paper will be submitted for plagiarism checking to the IEEE Crosscheck system.
- Once final submission has closed (Oct 10, 2024 23:59 (GMT -0700)), this version of your paper is considered final and may not be changed for any reason. Your final submitted manuscript will be the one presented to conference participants and submitted to IEEE Xplore for permanent archive. NO REQUESTS FOR MANUAL UPDATES TO YOUR FINAL SUBMITTED MANUSCRIPT WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Your completed IEEE copyright release must be filed by Oct 10, 2024 23:59 (GMT -0700). You will receive an email directly from ecopyright@ieee.org within 3days with the copyright instructions. After logging into your author account, follow on-screen instructions. This will begin the digital filing process for your copyright release.
IEEE reserves the right to exclude any accepted paper from distribution after the conference (including, removal from IEEE Xplore) if the accepted paper is not presented at the conference.
Author Registration
- Note: for an accepted paper to be presented and, following presentation, be included in the proceedings/IEEE Xplore at least one author must be registered.
- At least one author of the paper must be registered at the appropriate full conference rate (Member, Non-member, Student member, Student non-member) in order to upload the final paper (deadline: August 15th). Once a manuscript has been uploaded, the registration fees cannot be refunded. Please be sure that the attending author completes the payment and uploads the final paper before the Submission Deadline of Camera-Ready Papers and Extended Abstracts.
- One author registration will cover the publication expenses of only TWO accepted papers while one student registration will cover the publication expenses of only ONE accepted paper.
- If you would like to register for BHI 2024 Workshops Only, please make sure to choose the admission item “Workshop-Full Day Only” or “Workshop-Half Day Only” when you reach the registration items page during the registration process.
Lecture Presentation Information
The duration of a presentation slot is 15 minutes. You will have 12 minutes for the presentation itself and 3 minutes for questions from the audience.
A LCD projector & computer (Windows 7, MS Powerpoint & Adobe Acrobat Reader) will be available in every session room for regular presentations.
Preparation of Visuals
- PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BRING BRING A MEMORY STICK CONTAINING YOUR PRESENTATION FILE.
- Files can be uploaded to the local PCs in the lecture rooms during the coffee breaks or at lunch.
- To avoid software compatibility problems (MS Powerpoint), speakers are advised to EMBED ALL FONTS in your Powerpoint file AND bring a backup PDF-version of your presentation.
- Speakers should arrive in their session room 15 minutes BEFORE the start of your session to report to the session chair. A proctor will also be available in case you need technical assistance.
- Speakers are strongly encouraged to visit the Speaker Preparation room in advance of your presentation to avoid any last minute problems. The Speakers’ Preparation room will be available on all days that sessions are scheduled.
General Considerations
- Limit the number of words per visual to no more than 20.
Leave space, at least the height of a capital letter, between lines of text. - All fonts, including that on graphs, should be 18 point or larger.
- Graphs and charts should have bold lines and symbols that contrast sharply with the background.
Poster Presentation Information
The recommended poster format is portrait A0 (84.1 cm wide x 118.9 cm height). Double sided adhesive tape and/or pins will be available in the poster area to put the posters on the panels.
Authors are required to print their own poster and are responsible for hanging up their poster before the start of the session and of removing them after the session end.
Each poster board onsite will be marked with a number that directly correlates with each poster in the PDF program. Please place your poster on the assigned board.
You are welcome to use your own poster template – it is not mandatory to use the IEEE BHI download below.
