Call for Papers

The IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI’23) sponsored by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE-EMBS), is EMBS’s primary technical conference on informatics and computing in healthcare and life sciences. BHI’23 will provide a unique forum to showcase basic and translational research products on big data analytics and machine learning that address challenges in the acquisition, transmission, processing, security, visualization, and interpretation of vast volumes of multi-modal biomedical data, as well as related social, behavior, environmental, and geographical data. It will also demonstrate the deployment of BHI informatics solutions that integrate key technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, mHealth, e-Health, human-computer interface, telemedicine, bioinformatics, sensors, imaging, and public health monitoring, to achieve patient-centric and outcome-driven effective health care.

BHI’23 invites submissions of 4-page regular technical papers and 1-page extended abstracts. The theme of BHI’23 is “Transforming healthcare and medicine with AI”.

This is to ensure the review process can begin and end timely for all authors.
    Submission Quality
    • Authors are encouraged to complete a thorough review of the initial submission manuscript. The paper which is submitted will be the paper which is reviewed by the reviewing body. Once the initial submission deadline closes any requests to edit the initial submission cannot be accommodated.
    • Reviews are assigned by theme and keywords included in the paper data during the initial paper submission process. Authors are encouraged to carefully select keywords and themes to ensure the paper is reviewed by peers in your subject area.
    • Each paper will be reviewed by reviewers assigned by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference Editorial Board team in connection with the conference organizing committee, and in compliance with IEEE & EMBS Publication and Review Policies.
    • Reviews are traditional single blind peer reviews where the identity of the reviewer is not visible to the author(s).
    • The qualitative and quantitative feedback from the reviews and other factors of consideration for the conference will be gathered to determine whether the papers should be either accepted or rejected to the conference.
